Yes, this automatically creates markers whenever clipping occurs during a recording. It's a toggle setting in the Recording submenu.

You should never edit classical music with interleaved files. You can easily explode all your interleaved files into individual (mono and stereo tracks) using one command. Click to select the take, place markers where you want to split the take and execute:
Edit => EDITING => Split => No crossfade @ => Markers, into subtakes
